Google certainly thinks so, and they have elicited the help of some like-minded organizations to find the next Rock Star of science. Last week, Google launched The Google Global Science Fair, asking budding young scientist from around the world to submit interesting, creative projects that are relevant to the world today.
Outside of this being a fun way to celebrate young geekdom (I say that in the most affectionate way as I am one), it’s also great example of how a brand can live illustrate its purpose and conviction through meaningful acts. Also not a bad way for Google to keep those young minds of tomorrow thinking Google is the cool place to work when they’re out of school….not Facebook :)
